Magic Marmalade?

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - Happy Birthday

Domestic bliss all round chez Bugle as our photo journalist is getting into making homemade preserves and liqueurs. We still aren’t really used to the luxury of having our own citrus trees in the back garden! Aside from this hive of industry in the kitchen, life here in town is still very relaxed. After the big freeze in February (the one day on Crete where the temperature dipped below double figures!), March was relatively kind to us weather wise (though we did have a couple of cracking storms). We’ve had plenty of sunshine and the island is starting to come into flower. Hopefully, by Orthodox Easter at the end of this month Crete will be in full bloom. A perfect time of year to get out and about and to explore the beautiful countryside here.

April 2008 Highlights:

This month, some of you may be surprised to learn that we feature ‘water’ rather than wine (well, we can’t always be totally predictable)! We have a Bavarian recipe, strange stories from around the Globe, and a Carnival photo gallery. All this plus news and views from the region, details of local community events and more!
