This month domestic bliss is in our compiler’s mind. As usual, you’ll also find solutions to last month’s puzzles on this page - so far no takers for our competition, unfortunately. Remember, there are prizes to be won, and you can submit your entries to us at any time before the copy deadline each month. Once again, if we’re feeling particularly generous, we might even give you a couple of answers ahead of time online at our Facebook group!

Logic Problem #27: Impossible Easter Egg Hunt

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - Logic Problem #27 - April 2009

A disreputable company is promoting a dodgy treasure hunt with fake prizes hidden in impossible locations (boo hiss). Four young women are sent clues for this scam through the post. Happily though, they are not taken in and start on a treasure hunt of their own. From the clues below, work out which woman was supposed to look in which location for the bogus prize, where they started their own treasure hunt, and what was special about the egg that they found.

Amy’s dodgy clue would have sent her to Mount Athos, but the fake prize was not a sports car.

Babs found a Faberge egg, but not by looking under the sofa. The person who found the golden egg found it in an olive grove. Dolly was promised money as a bogus prize. Cassie’s fake clue told her to look for her prize in a submarine, Babs was not the person who was told to look in the county jail for her prize.

Amy found her special egg on the beach. The person who found the magic egg had been promised a world cruise by the scam. Cassie didn’t find her special egg in the olive grove, and had not been promised a date with a celebrity. The dinosaur egg was not found on the beach.
