Flower Power!

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - March 2010

April 2010Spring has definitely sprung and it is looking just lovely here on Crete right now. The countryside is fresh and green and as you might have guessed from our cover photo there are beautiful flowers everywhere! It’s just a fantastic time of year! Weird weather—sometimes it is as hot as the middle of summer, other times it is a little bit chilly (though never as cold as the frozen wastes of Northern Europe!). It’s hard to believe, but the peace and quiet of winter will very soon be over (doesn’t time just fly by when you are having fun?!) and we are expecting our first batch of visitors in the next few days. We welcome you all and hope you have a lovely time here! Rethymnon is looking really rather beautiful at the moment, the atmosphere is good and people are looking forward to making summer 2010 a really good one (despite a few negative financial forces!). I know I’ve said it so many times, but Crete really is such a special, special place.

April Highlights

On our Spotlight Page we talk about windy things. There is a great story about a goldfish, and heaps of useful ideas to help you cope with your extra lemons. Our crossword is as eccentric as ever and we bring you an all new invention! What more could you ask for? Well, you’ll also get news and views from around town and details of up and coming community events too!

About ‘The Bugle’

BugleThe Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle is an independent, monthly FREE publication that was started in January 2007 (how time flies). The Bugle is an English language publication that is geared not only towards the Greek and international community living and working in Rethymnon, but also to anybody who likes our town (or would like to know our town) and loves Crete. The aim of the Bugle is to be both informative and light hearted.

We welcome feedback and written / photographic contributions from readers. We particularly welcome feature articles that have a Rethymnon slant; if you are considering submitting an article we would ask that you keep to an upper word limit of 500 words.

You will find our contact details and a listing of hard copy distribution outlets at the bottom of our This Month Page.

We hope you enjoy reading our April issue!
