Enterprising LocalsCrete Kennels: August UpdateA clear statement from Crete Kennels We have said it before (perhaps more gently in previous editions) but Peter & Kimberley at Crete Kennels (Armeni, Rethymnon) have no link to any other kennels using a similar name. We are the licensed Dog Hotel just outside Rethymnon and have no fund-raising activities undertaken on our behalf (car boot sales included).
The little church at Skaleta was a beautiful setting – it is so small, that the service was held outside next to the beach. We parked in the car park, but were delayed in getting away…. as always, Greek guests parked anywhere in the road, so we didn’t manage to make the reception. Once we got back we still had all the other dogs to take out and Ouna had to (loudly) tell them where he had been! A marvellous day out and a very different way of attending a wedding. Naturally, many of the Greek guests were taken aback by the presence of a dog at the service (and a Rottweiler at that!). Ouna was so well behaved but of course needed the occasional break on the beach with us, this was also welcomed by the other guests who could then move about.
