Enterprising LocalsCrete Kennels: September Update
At Barbara’s in Plakias we had serious training and an hour of thoroughly enjoyable ride. Barbara caters mainly for experienced riders - though she also does some training sessions for learners and inexperienced riders - but used two staff to allow us to go. Our thanks to Emma and Linda (our steeds). In August we had the usual late bookings from our Greek guests – six of them travelled from Athens! Once again, we had the little and large guests who made friends across the fence…
Note: Yorkies must be fed three times a day at this age to save complications later in their lives. December is now fully booked, so, sorry if you’re planning Christmas away. Bookings are now being taken for next summer. Being serious again. PLEASE let us know if you are going to be late with your dog on arrival or on collection – we do have to feed, walk and play with all the dogs and delays cause problems for us and the other guests – Very late collections will have to be charged for, if only as mild deterrent. Please look out for the tiny darts of grass which can lodge in your dogs pads and paws. After being out, it takes a few minutes to thoroughly inspect them – it’s better than the pain and discomfort from leaving them in We use our Vet to do this, as extraction and treatment with antibiotics can be the only safe cure. Our Vet in Armeni now has her x ray machine up and running – the only one in the centre of the island!
