Enterprising LocalsCrete Kennels: Christmas and Boxing Day Photo GalleryPeter and Kimberley continue to write: Of course, after the holidays comes the clearing up. The washing machine and the new tumble dryer (a gift from one of our friends planning their return to the UK) have never been so busy - but it’s all well worth it. Into a New Year….most of our guests will leave by the 7th, although new dogs are booked to take their places. We still have long-term enquiries for dogs returning to the UK in April - it’s cheaper for them to stay here for the time rather than the trouble, stress and expense of winter flights. There is a company operating a road-run to the UK in March, but that means five days in a cage with differing weather conditions across Europe - worth a thought for your pet. The first direct flights from Crete to the UK start around 8th April (Gatwick) and 13th (Bristol) - bear this in mind if you have to go back. 2012 looks like being a cost-cutting exercise for Greeks and ex-pats but we still have bookings throughout the year (and into 2013) so, please try to let us know ASAP - we had to disappoint so many customers this last year when we have been fully booked - especially those who have phoned us in December for Christmas bookings when their ‘alternative’ dog sitters have let them down. To all our customers, may 2012 have more highs than lows and remember, whatever the situation here on Crete, just take a look at the news for the rest of Europe. The grass may not be greener when you see the alternatives.
