Jingle Bells |
Frosty the snowman isn’t exactly coming to town (and wouldn’t that be mixing up a couple of songs
anyway?) but we are starting to feel the Christmas spirit. In November, people took time out to recover from the
summer, and are now raring to go for the winter party season. If last year is anything to go by, we won’t be
drawing breath until the first charter plane touches down next year. But on the other hand, as always, for the
editor, Rethymnon is at its most romantic at this time of year. Quiet streets free from tour groups, the smell
of wood smoke on a cool evening, leisurely tin jugs of wine in a Taverna and gentle conversation with friends.
These are a few of my favourite things. And it wouldn’t be Christmas without ‘The Sound of Music’ now, would it?

December Highlights: |
|
Reindeer. Lots of them. See how many you can spot in this issue. We
also have a mini report from our trip abroad. We attempted to bring you
a snapshot of our Bugle Year, but we couldn’t do justice to all the
events that took place in Rethymnon during 2007. As for all the support
we have received from our readers? We can’t tell you how much it has
meant to us. Thank you all. We wish you a merry, peaceful Christmas, and
a happy 2008. |
