Crete Kennels: December Update

Peter and Kimberley write: “Not that much to report from last month - though we have been very busy and have also been concentrating on trying to get ready for Christmas.

We’ve had some bright weather recently, and as you can see from the pictures, this means that guests have been able to enjoy the play sessions out on the field, or just enjoy a cuddle!

Anyway, back to our Christmas preparations. As usual, we are doing our special menus with treats for all our guests, and like all big families, that means massive shopping expeditions to stock up at the butchers and other food shops, also buying cleaning materials, photo paper and inks (for those Christmas pictures of their holidays) and, of course, buying presents for each of the dogs.

Weather permitting, Kimberley has planned to dress up for Boxing Day when each of the dogs will be running in the field with her (all of them trying to get rid of those extra calories!) and there will be prizes, too! Peter will be on hand with the camera and hopefully we will be able to bring you some pictures of the festivities in the January edition of the Bugle (note from the editor: we’re really looking forward to seeing these! )

In between times, we have now prepared and fenced the extra grassed area and wet weather space ready for the rains that will be with us in February. This space also is a nice area where the dogs can lie under the trees in the shade come the summer months.

Once again, to all our human friends…. apologies from us for not being sociable to people from mid December to January….we’ll be spending all our time entertaining our holiday guests. So, sorry, no humans allowed!”
