Crossword

Well, it wouldn't really be a Coffee Morning Bugle without a crossword, now would it? Big thanks to Luc who saved the day when it came to compiling this month’s puzzle—which as you may notice has a distinctly local flavour to it. As for the logic problem, you may well need Cretan logic to solve it, and we accept no responsibility for hair loss! Solutions to both puzzles will be published in next month’s issue of the CMB, and will also be posted on the www.rethymnonnews.com and www.rethymnon.biz websites.

Logic Problem: Rethymnon Style

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - Logic Problem
Four lonely tourists on Crete set out using different modes of transport to different locations. Happily, once they arrive, they each manage to find a friendly hostelry and a sympathetic Cretan to cheer them up. Using the clues, work out where our tourists went, which mode of transport they used, which type of hostelry they visited, and the name of their new found friend.

Maria was really understanding about the mess the donkey made, and Bruce really enjoyed his man-to-man chat. The car driver found it a real nightmare to park in town.
The noise from the nightclub in the village can be heard for miles. Nikos wasn’t at the taverna, nor was he by the lake. The donkey didn’t go to the bar. Costas used all his charms to try and chat up Alice. Despina met her tourist off the bus, which didn’t go to the lake or the bar.
Fiona has a phobia about donkeys. Alice wasn’t on the roller skates which kept getting stuck in the sand, and Alex doesn’t like loud music.
