Logic Problem #13: Romantic Gestures |
 |
|
Four blokes land themselves in trouble after failing to be Mr. Romance to their wives on Valentine’s
Day. From the clues below, work out who is married to whom, what romantic gesture each wife was expecting,
what happened instead, and how each wife got her revenge….
Ben, who is not married to Virginia had forgotten all about the trip to Paris he had promised his wife.
Victoria is married to Barry, she didn’t spend the evening queuing at a mobile fish and chip van in the
rain. Bert’s idea of trailing round a DIY store to look for power tools failed to impress his wife. She
isn’t the person who was hoping for a box of chocolates.
Virginia got her own back on her partner by hiding all his clothes in the compost bin. Violet thought
that a bunch of red roses was the least she could expect on Valentine’s Day – she isn’t married to Basil,
nor is she the person who started an affair with the milkman.
The disappointed wife who failed to get her romantic meal made up for it by going on a girls’ night
out. Ben didn’t take his wife to a football match. Neither Valerie nor Virginia spent the day washing
the car.
