Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - Happy Birthday

Despite the deceptive picture on the left of a sunny day with snow on the White Mountains, the weather in January has been somewhat harsh and we have had several storms—you will see pictures of the aftermath of some of these on our Around Town page.
Rethymnon took a bit of a battering at the end of the month. And whilst it’s all well and good keeping warm sitting by the fire drinking raki, we’re all looking forward to experiencing some more spring-like temperatures—especially during the carnival festivities.
Aside from that, though, 2008 seems to have got off to a good start in Rethymnon. Even in the depths of winter the social scene is as lively as ever— this town just seems to party all year round!

February 2008 Highlights:

This month our Spotlight page focuses on winter fruit on Crete. We have some unusual animal stories (including one about kangaroos), a romantic recipe and, of course, our very own tongue-in-cheek horoscope. All this plus news from around town, updates from local enterprises and details of community and charity events.
