Crete Kennels: Another Year Over!

Kimberley and Peter write: “So, another year over and a new year to look forward to. The Christmas period was very busy here, with all our guests enjoying the break – we had a special menu, presents, nature walks and fun, even when the rains came. You can see some of our Christmas photos on the next page.
Unfortunately, we did have to turn away many owners and guests who had left it to the last minute to book. And, yes, in case you’re asking, we have considered expanding. But it comes down to the value we put on our facilities and service to the guests. Quite simply, if we have more kennels we will be able to take more dogs, but we will be able to spend less time with each dog on an individual basis.
And it would not fit with our ethos if we allowed this to happen just because we are busy at holiday times. Having said this, we already have some bookings up to next Christmas!
Some of our goals for 2008 were slower to achieve than we might have wished (but, hey, this is Crete!). However, hopefully, we will finish the projects to further improve the facilities for the dogs here at Crete Kennels. The field, the extra trees, the running track (Peter does go on about this)…. And there will be more ideas no doubt! We are still absolutely committed to our original plan – to create the ultimate dog hotel in Crete which gives the standards of care we would want for our dog wherever we are.
We appreciate that for many ex pats it will be a tough year (falling pound, etc) with less travelling back to the UK to see their families or even for their family and friends to visit them - but don’t forget, we do cater for mini-breaks (Easter excluded) and it is worth giving us a call if you find that ‘late deal flights’ offer.”
WE WISH ALL OUR GUESTS (PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE)
AND THEIR OWNERS A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
Canine tip of the month…
We all forget…Rabies jabs are a must – even if you have no plans to travel at the moment…. You must have these done 6 months before travelling – and so many people were caught out last year! So be prepared….. and make sure that you tell your vet what MIGHT be needed well ahead of time.
