Logic Problem #36: Gift Wrapped This is possibly our most irreverent logic problem yet, but we felt it just had to be done. Four kings come from the East to bring gifts to babies. From the clues below work out where the kings came from, the name of the baby they were visiting, the navigational aid they used to get to their destination, the gift they chose, and what happened that stopped them getting home in time. The King from Aswan used GPS to get to his destination. The royal personage from Giza was bringing a present for baby Bertie. The King from Luxor chose a toy sheep as his gift, and the King from Sinai didn’t get back home because he joined a travelling rock and roll band instead of continuing with his journey. Baby Bobby received a football as his present. The King who used a compass to get to his destination got held up on the way back by a revolution. The King who brought a tricycle was not the same King whose camel went on strike on the return trip. The King who visited baby Barry used a map for guidance. Neither the King from Aswan nor the King from Sinai chose a drum kit. The King from Luxor was not visiting Bobby or Barry and was not the King who had the distraction of a love affair on the way home. The King visiting Bobby didn’t use a star for directions, and the King who brought the drum kit was not held up on his way back by a camel strike or a revolution. Solution to Problem #35: 1: Raymond, Kafeneion, Bald Tree, Live Turkey, Less Mess. 2: Ricardo, Garden Centre, Met Friend, Inflatable Reindeer, Eco Friendly. 3: Roberto, Supermarket, Got Lost, Cactus, More Stylish. 4. Rupert, Forest, Case of Raki, Would Last Longer. |
