Shiver My Timbers! |

Not exactly, of course. Whilst the rain has been pelting down at Wimbledon, we have been frying. Thankfully temperatures have now dropped a little in the last couple of days, and we have actually ventured outside. The garden looks a little bit toasted, and, if we are going to be brutally honest, planting those Sweet Peas for a “Cottage Garden’ look was perhaps a bit of a mistake. Never mind. Town now has the usual scattering of lobster coloured tourists that we expect from the Summer months. Happily though, as ever in Rethymnon, there are also plenty of genial ’returnees’ in town who we are delighted to be able to catch up with. |

It’s a Bigger Bugle this month, and don’t we just know it. Our editor is now flat on her
back and has come over all unnecessary (waiting for the Metaxa drip-feed). Seriously, though,
we do hope you enjoy our expanded edition. In addition to the usual we’ve given you
programme highlights from the Renaissance Festival, a local business forum and a faintly
alternative perspective on Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar. |
