Summer ‘Chat and Swim Meetings at Camping Elizabeth

RETHYMNON CIC EXTRA SUMMER MEETINGS - THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH at CAMPING ELIZABETH. As in previous years we invite members and visitors to Rethymnon to join us for a swim, drinks and to eat lunch etc. The meetings take place every third Thursday of the month from around 2pm and the general assembly point is at the campsite taverna. Camping Elizabeth is on the beach at Missiria, a few kilometers east of Rethymnon - (just past Perivolia, heading in the Heraklion direction on the Old Road), marked by a blue and yellow sign at the campsite turn-off. The telephone number of the campsite is 28310 28694. The beach is ‘wild’ so you might want to bring your own beach mats and umbrellas….

The Bugle Group on Facebook

As some of you will already know, in February we launched an online group for the Bugle on Facebook (the social networking site). It’s an open group, anyone can join, and we would love to receive your feedback, suggestions for features, and photos etc. It’s also another way for us to post details of up and coming events as and when they happen - in between publication dates - and to make announcements . And remember, the forum on www.rethymnon.biz is alive and kicking, too!

Crossword Competition: Movers and Shakers!

Thanks once again to our intrepid crossword aficionados Judy Hall and Trevor and Linda Sanders for submitting their June entries to the ongoing crossword competition. Full marks (5 points) all round! Judy is still in the lead with 15 points, but Trevor and Linda are closing the gap with 13 points. The battle is on! The rules (such as they are) go like this. Submit your entries to us by the copy deadline (you can do this via email, or by snail mail at Patr. Grigoriou 11 — our mailbox is outside the house if you are passing by), and each month we will publish a running tally of top five scorers. At the end of the year, the top scoring contestant(s) will win a meal for two at a restaurant in Rethymnon courtesy of the Bugle. You will find the solution to last month’s crossword on our Fun and Games page. Keep those entries rolling in and lookout for some helpful (?) hints on our Facebook group!

Cancer Support Group: New Venue in Georgioupolis

A Cancer Support Group has been formed for people who have been through or who are undergoing treatment for cancer, and also for those who have recently lost significant others to this disease. These are the needs of the current group. It is a diverse and flexible group, and different sub-groups can be formed later on an "as needed" basis. This is a support group not a therapy group, and confidentiality is a given. There is no fee. Meetings will be held on the first Monday of every month in Georgioupolis, from 11am - 1pm at Oasis Café - Bar, is off the main square, near the big church (please note the change of venue). Carpooling available from Rethymnon.
