Lion Sleeps Tonight?

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - May 2010Well, that’s Greece for you, isn’t it? Blue skies and all. Absolutely lovely at any time of year, and always so much to fire the imagination. We could wax lyrical, but we’re not actually that brilliant at doing the romantic poetry stuff. We’re also not convinced that the animal is really a lion, but does that matter? It is really beautiful. Or to put it another way, you’re hardly likely to be able to take a photo like this if you happen to be visiting Swindon (for those of you who are not terribly familiar with the UK Swindon is a town in England that apparently has a railway station), but let’s not go any further down that route. Here in Rethymnon things are heating up. There’s a buzzy and fizzy atmosphere, and it is definitely ’fun and flip-flop’ time!

July Highlights

In our Spotlight pages we feature some travelling tales from far away and closer to home. On a lighter note, we also bring you a story about a footballing octopus and another one on how not to break into a skateboard shop. We have a liquid recipe and some cool and cheerful ’retail therapy’ tips. All this plus news and views from around town and much, much more!

About ‘The Bugle’

BugleThe Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle is an independent, monthly FREE publication that was started in January 2007 (how time flies). The Bugle is an English language publication that is geared not only towards the Greek and international community living and working in Rethymnon, but also to anybody who likes our town (or would like to know our town) and loves Crete. The aim of the Bugle is to be both informative and light hearted.

We welcome feedback and written / photographic contributions from readers. We particularly welcome feature articles that have a Rethymnon slant; if you are considering submitting an article we would ask that you keep to an upper word limit of 500 words.

You will find our contact details and a listing of hard copy distribution outlets at the bottom of our This Month Page.

We hope you enjoy reading our July issue!
