Crete Kennels: Onward and Upward!

As we reported last month, in April Peter and Kimberley celebrated the anniversary of their ‘First year living on Crete’. However, it should be noted that Crete Kennels itself has only been up and running for six months! Even so, plans are afoot to further improve the facilities for the canine guests. Peter and Kimberley report: ‘The grassed part in the exercise area is now well established and enjoyed by the dogs, many of whom have, up until now, done most of their playing time on concrete. So now they thoroughly relish the feel of grass to run on. No, it’s not a lawn — it is for the dogs to run on, roll on and even dig up (re-seeded twice already). For May, much of the work carried out was for the benefit of the kennel owners (but no less important: happy kennel owners make for happy canine caretakers, says the editor) YES! the access lane is being re-laid at last and the weeds eradicated…no more pot holes! June sees further paddocks being built and more grass being laid… no, with Kimberley & Peter the grass does not grow under their feet… unless it’s for the guests! They have recently had 5 days with no dogs… ample time for a deep clean (all those nooks & crannies…) and also to kill all the weeds surrounding the site in readiness for the summer ahead.
