Trains of Thought?
In February, weather-wise, we had it all. Freezing temperatures, with snow and hail one day,
brilliant warm sunshine the next. That’s Crete for you, full of surprises! But now, Spring is definitely
well on its way. The flowers are starting to come out, and hopefully, by next month Crete will be in full
bloom. Rethymnon is still relatively quiet at the moment, though we hope to be welcoming visitors from out
of town at Carnival Parade weekend, and the first wave of tourists is due to hit town at the end of the
month (so soon?!). The annual ‘pre-season last-minute panic’ can be witnessed in many places, particularly
along the beachfront, local business owners frantically painting and decorating so that they can open up
in time….
March 2008 Highlights:
There are lots of things happening in March, and this month’s Bugle is jam-packed with events that
should keep you entertained. We have also embraced the grape and feature ‘essential research’ into certain
aspects of wine-production. All this plus news and views from around the region, community updates and
much more!
