Crete Kennels: 'Little and Large'

Peter and Kimberley write: ‘Just to show how things are going, in terms of ‘dog sizes’ this month we have had both ends of the spectrum… little Ivi, who is about 6 inches high, maximum, and Luger – a Big Doberman show dog (recently awarded second prize in the Show). Thankfully, we had adapted some of the kennels to suit the smaller dogs and had even redesigned one for Ektora, our visiting escapologist. Ektora would climb the two metre high fence, bite away the ties of the special roof built for him – then come down, plan his next move and break out. It became a real challenge for us. We tried five different designs and he managed to beat four of them. Once free, he would sit outside the office as if to say ‘good try - what next’? Eventually, though we did win the battle.
At the moment we have one of our old favourites visiting us again – an old, Old English with arthritis (so we have a quilt just for her).
Like all good hotels, we try to cater for each guests’ personal requirements – while you are away, they deserve a holiday as well – no cocktails - but comfort, cuddles and food to their liking.’
Canine tip of the month...With the onset of colder weather, snakes, etc are looking for somewhere warm - please remember NOT to leave out milk or milk products for your pet at the moment - it attracts reptiles from miles around!
