Happy Valley
This picture was taken on a lovely day in beautiful Amari. It’s just such a wonderful place, and always makes us feel good. Apologies for being slightly late with this month’s edition (November 1st became November 5th rather quickly!). Even though it’s supposed to be a quieter time of year we’ve had a very busy few weeks and there have been lots of parties to go to. No excuses, we know, and we’ll try and do better for December. So, here is our regular weather report: The weather has just been flaming weird (though ’flaming’ is possibly the wrong word!). We’ve had brilliant sunshine followed by some of the most dramatic thunderstorms that we have ever experienced on the island. And, oh yes, we know which bits of the roof leak. Still, as ever, it’s all jolly good fun here! November HighlightsOn our Spotlight page we bring you a feature about Ross Daly and the Labyrinth Project in Houdetsi. We also report on our experiences when trying to make cider on Crete. There is some sensational science, and helpful hints about aubergines. All this plus news and views from around town, music reviews, updates from local enterprises, details of local community and charity events and much more! About ‘The Bugle’The Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle is an independent, monthly FREE publication that was started in January 2007 by the same team responsible for the www.rethymnon.biz website — Kate and Luc Brusten, who have been living and working in Rethymnon for a number of years. The Bugle is geared not only towards the international community living in Rethymnon, but also towards anyone who has an interest in the town. The aim of the publication is to be both informative and light hearted. We welcome feedback and written / photographic contributions from readers. We particularly welcome feature articles that have a Rethymnon slant; if you are considering submitting an article we would ask that you keep to an upper word limit of 500 words. You will find our contact details and a listing of hard copy distribution outlets at the bottom of our This Month Page. We hope you enjoy reading our November issue! |
