Indian Summer?

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - Indian Summer?

Here is a challenge for all you Tour Guide Editors: See if you can locate this architectural feature! Moving rapidly on…. October is the month for the big seasonal change on Crete. At the beginning of the month, tourists are happily on the beaches, but by the time Halloween comes along, the last charters have gone home and autumn has well and truly begun. Time to unwind and relax! According to local sources, Rethymnon has apparently already witnessed the first great downpour of the year—we missed this great event as we were galloping around surprisingly sunny Northern Europe at the time. But on our return we did notice that the garden looked a lot happier (have you ever seen a giggling tomato?) than it had done in July.

October Highlights:

This month on our Spotlight Page we take a subjective look at tourism here on Crete. We also bring you news from around town, updates from local enterprises and details of community and charity events. All this plus our unique crossword, quirky recipe, somewhat obsessive article about iguana and much, much more!

About ‘The Bugle’

The Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle is an independent, monthly FREE publication that was started in January 2007 by the same team responsible for the www.rethymnon.biz website — Kate and Luc Brusten, who have been living and working in Rethymnon for a number of years. The Bugle is geared not only towards the international community living in Rethymnon, but also towards anyone who has an interest in the town. The aim of the publication is to be both informative and light hearted. We welcome feedback and written / photographic contributions from readers. We particularly welcome feature articles that have a Rethymnon slant; if you are considering submitting an article we would ask that you keep to an upper word limit of 500 words.

You will find our contact details and a listing of hard copy distribution outlets at the bottom of our This Month Page.

We hope you enjoy reading our October issue!
