Crete Kennels: The Onset of Winter
Peter and Kimberley write: ‘Our first ever guest has returned - Lucy, now a fully grown Pit Bull, bouncing around the grass area like Tigger in Winnie the Pooh, and no longer needing her ‘comfort’ bed. We had forgotten that she chews everything - including rubber mats and blankets! It’s a pleasure to see that she has grown up so beautifully. We are constantly surprised to see how well our ‘returnees’ recognise us—rushing up to us in excitement as soon as they arrive back at Crete Kennels, happy to be on holiday once more!
Our latest guests were initially a bit confused by the change in the weather (we’ve seen some rain), but are now happily jumping into any puddle they can find…. We are back in wellies (Peter has his famous bobble hat on again!) and have taken our wet weather gear, winter towels and extra blankets out of storage.
So, we, the ‘Hotel Staff’ are ready for what ever the Crete weather throws at us. At least the recent rain has allowed us to finish seeding and planting the trees in the new paddock for the dogs. And, summer isn’t over just yet….
PLEASE NOTE: We are ALREADY 50% booked for the Christmas period. At many times of the year last minute bookings can often be catered for BUT NOT over the Christmas period. SO BOOK AHEAD! We have restricted ‘hotel numbers’ to 10 guests so that the dogs can have our full attention. When we are full.. that’s it!
Canine Tip of the month: Summer might be coming to an end but please keep those flea collars on (standing water can mean mosquitoes) and try and keep them dry. Also… remember to ‘front-line’ your pet – their fur is a warm safe haven for all sorts of creepy crawlies….’
