Rethymnon CIC Meetings in October and November

The Rethymnon branch of the Cretan International Community meets on the first Thursday of every month at Svea’s Konditori, Kapetan Lemonia 3, Rethymnon, from 11am. The October meeting will take place on Thursday 01/10/09, the November meeting will take place on Thursday 05/11/09. Everyone, regardless of membership status is welcome to attend. The CIC meetings are a great way to get to know people from the international community, to exchange news and views, and to find out about up-and-coming local events.

The local coordinator for the Rethymnon branch of the CIC is Anna Capernaros. Anna may be reached on 28310 57305. The President of the CIC is Debra Papadinoff, her contact number is 6938 639823.

You can find further information about the CIC organization itself on the www.thecic.eu website.

Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle - Friends of AnimalsFriends of Animals Rethymno (FAR) now have their own charity shop in Pigi. The current opening hours for the shop are Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 2pm and 7pm to 9.30pm. Volunteers to help staff the shop are desperately needed. Please, if you can spare a few hours to help out in the shop, get in touch with Clodagh on 6945170226 or pass by the shop during opening hours. And, of course, donations to the shop (clothes in good condition, household goods, DVDs, books, bric-a-brac etc.) are always welcome). You can find out more about the work of Friends of Animals on the www.animals.rethymnon.org website. Friends of Animals are finding it increasingly difficult to re-home older dogs, so if you can help in any way, please do!
