New Waves

After the tragic loss of life due to forest fires in the Peloponnese and Evvia, it was difficult to think of what to say on our Front Page Postcard. Our thoughts go out to all those who have been affected. Many of the fires are now under control, and we hope September brings cooler temperatures and the much needed first rainfall. Here in Rethymnon we are looking forward to a peaceful autumn. The mid-summer rush is over, and although there are still plenty of visitors about, town is starting to adopt a slower pace. So, to many of our guests we say goodbye, and hope to see you again next year!

Highlights:

After August’s sporting frenzy, this month we turn our attention to performance arts — focusing on dance and shadow play. We’ve put together a photo montage of images of summer in Rethymnon that we hope you enjoy, wherever you might be. As ever, we have features on local enterprise and community events. You’ll also find that our fishy friends are back with a vengeance, and that our in-house astrologers have out-done themselves!
