Well, obviously. It’s February and we’re about to go full tilt into carnival (and knowing us, tilting at windmills might not be too far off the mark). And the tourist season is nearly upon us! You might think that we are joking, but it’s only eight weeks until the easyJet direct flights start up again, and, in any case, time has a habit of whizzing by on this island. So far it has been an action packed winter. Music, dance, raki, parties, you know, the usual in a quiet town when the visitors have left. The weather has perhaps been less than brilliant, but this has not deterred us from having a great time. And once more the island is starting to look green again. Yeehah!
February Highlights
On our Spotlight pages with the help of our guide Ioanna we take a new look at our beautiful town of Rethymnon. We bring you a story about the African Loch Ness Monster and also some fabulous Belgian pancake recipes. There are great contributions from our enterprising locals, sensible health tips and the gardeners are back from Austria! All this plus news and views from around town and so much more….
About ‘The Bugle’
The Rethymnon Coffee Morning Bugle is an independent, monthly FREE magazine that was started in January 2007. The Bugle is an English language publication that is geared not only towards the Greek and international community living and working in Rethymnon, but also to anybody who likes our town (or would like to know our town) and loves Crete. The aim of the Bugle is to be both informative and light hearted. We welcome feedback and written / photographic contributions from readers. We particularly welcome feature articles that have a Rethymnon slant; if you are considering submitting an article we would ask that you keep to an upper word limit of 500 words.
You will find our contact details and a listing of hard copy distribution outlets on our ‘Sources & Resources’ page.
We hope you enjoy reading our February issue!
