Logic Problem #5: Wedding Bells

Four pairs of travelling companions go on holiday to Crete, the understanding being that they are ‘just good friends’. Well, you know how it is in Romantic Rethymnon. During their stay, thoughts turned to marriage. From the clues below, work out who proposed to whom, where they were, what they were doing and what the response was.
Arthur’s proposal was made as a joke – his companion burst out laughing. Alice neither accepted nor rejected her offer

The couple who visited Arkadi Monastery were enjoying a cool beer in the café when one of them popped the question. Horace didn’t ask Doris to marry him; she wasn’t drinking beer or watching TV when she rejected her offer politely. Sam was taking photographs, but not with Vince who was on the beach.

The proposal made during a sunset stroll was accepted. Bert didn’t go to Arkadi or the Fortezza. Betty was in the harbour when she plucked up the courage to ask her partner to marry her, and Alice wasn’t with Arthur.
