Fish Are Jumping

Summer time and the living is easy? Not entirely true for everyone of course, particularly those working in the tourist industry here—and town is starting to get busier now. Still, Rethymnon in June remains pretty laid-back and it really is a fantastic time of year to visit Crete. Chez Bugle the barbecue has already been operational (despite some real downpours in May) and the editorial team could currently be described as ’basking in a warm glow’ rather than ’completely fried’. We’re now gearing ourselves up for the legendary Summer Solstice Party on 21st June. You will be able to find out more about this event on our ’This Month’ page.

Promises, Promises!

Do we never learn? Last month we promised that we would produce a survey for our readers (it being six months since the launch of this enterprise). Well, we haven’t managed it. This is nothing to do with the design of the questionnaire itself, but an awful lot to do with ‘data collection’. Funds being what they are, we can’t offer pre-paid postage for replies, and whilst a ‘tick-box’ form on the internet might be an option, it’s restrictive when looking for individual feedback and suggestions for new topics. We’re working on it, and ideas would be welcome. The lesson has been learned, though and we make NO PROMISES for what will be included in the July issue, save that barring accidents, there will be one! Meanwhile, thanks go to all our contributors who have helped us with the June 2007 Bugle. Check out Ian’s competition, the Art and Craft Spotlight and Cosmic Corner….
