Back in Bloom!

Autumn brings with it a second flowering on Crete. You’ll see oleander in bloom all along the main highway.
Last month we finally had a bit of rain, and the island looks much better for it. Charter flights stop at the end of the month, the high speed ferry has already stopped, and many of the tourist shops are already starting to wind down for the winter. So the party’s over for another year (or just about to begin, whichever way you look at it)! October is marvellous here, still plenty of sunshine, but calm and peaceful too. The Bugle team absolutely loves this time of year!

Highlights:

In October’s issue we taste the fruit of the vine, featuring the grape harvest on Crete. It’s Halloween at the end of the month, of course too, so we had to write something about that! We have a fantastic Belgian recipe for you, an all new International Competition, news and views from town and much, much more!
